Whether it's cinnamon stars, vanilla crescents, jam cookies or classic cut-out cookies: We've put together some helpful tips for everyone who wants to bake Christmas cookies with their children this year. Have fun and enjoy your Christmas baking!

  1. Sometimes it's not so easy for our little ones to help out at the kitchen table: Often they can't reach the work surface with their short little arms. In such cases, it is advisable to work at a lower kitchen table - that way, each (child's) hand really does wash the other!
  2. Fortunately, there are kitchen aprons to prevent the dough from sticking to the tray at worst, but not to your trousers and jumper! They are not only useful and fun to look at, but they also give you the feeling of being a real baking professional.
  3. Let the little ones do a lot themselves if possible! This is not only mega fun for them, but above all it boosts their self-confidence and sense of independence. But be careful: when it comes to working with the mixer and the hot oven, mum/dad's help is needed.
  4. Are the Christmas bakers tired of kneading, rolling out and punching out shapes? Then get into the cosy KOKADI baby carrier! This way, the Christmas bakers can bridge the waiting time until the cookies are ready in the oven with a little nap. And you can be right there with your child.

Still looking for a cookie recipe? We've got one for you that's quick to make and you probably already have the ingredients for at home!

Ingredients:

500 g flour
250 g butter
250 g sugar
3 eggs
½ sachet baking powder
125 g almonds

Preparation:

  1. Knead all the ingredients in a bowl to make a shortcrust pastry and place in the fridge overnight wrapped in aluminium foil.
  2. The next day, roll out the dough thinly on a floured work surface.
  3. Cut out cookies as desired and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and bake the cookies for about 10 minutes.

Your delicious Christmas cookies are ready!

If you want to decorate them, you can beat the egg whites until stiff and gradually add a little icing sugar and lemon juice. The result: a milky icing that holds wonderfully on the cookies and acts like a glue for colourful sprinkles, for example.

KOKADI wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
